Is it free to list on TheAntMarket?
Yes. There are no listing fees and no monthly subscription. You only pay a small fee when you make a sale — and even then, our fees are among the lowest in the industry.
How do I get paid?
You connect your Stripe account to your seller dashboard. When an order is delivered and the 48-hour buyer window passes without a dispute, funds are automatically transferred to your Stripe account and then to your bank.
What is the 48-hour buyer window?
After UPS confirms delivery, buyers have 48 hours to open a dispute if something is wrong. After 48 hours, funds are automatically released to you. If a buyer leaves a review before 48 hours, funds are released immediately.
Can I ship to all states?
By default, you can ship to your home state. To ship to additional states, upload your state shipping permits in your vendor dashboard. We verify your permits and unlock the additional states — displayed as a Licensed Seller badge on your storefront.
What species are restricted?
Live insects cannot be shipped to California, Hawaii, or Alaska regardless of permits. These restrictions are enforced automatically at checkout — buyers in those states won't be able to add restricted species to their cart.
How does buyer protection work?
Your payment is held securely and not released to the seller until UPS confirms delivery. You then have 48 hours to open a dispute if there's an issue. Our team reviews every dispute and makes a fair determination.
Can I sell supplies, not just live ants?
Absolutely. TheAntMarket supports queens, colonies, formicaria, test tubes, ant food, lighting, and any other ant keeping supplies. Dry goods can ship to any state with no permit requirements.
What shipping carrier does TheAntMarket use?
TheAntMarket integrates directly with UPS. Buyers see real-time UPS rates at checkout and choose their preferred service — Ground, 2nd Day Air, or Next Day Air. Labels are generated directly in your dashboard.
